We stopped by the closest fire station and although this firefighter was preparing dinner, he had no problem giving Tommy an impromptu tour-so kind! He let him sit in the driver’s seat, show him all the parts to the truck, hold an actual nozzle they use, look through a special heat-detecting camera, and then tour where they sleep, eat, and exercise. As he told Tommy about everything, Tommy’s response was always a ‘yeah’ after everything he said. He was taking it all in;)
Something interesting he said was, if he’s surrounded by flames, he has about 15 seconds before his clothing will start to burn. I always thought they had much longer! Tyler was just along for the ride:) but did excellent, since he was being held. I’m really glad we went. Then we headed to Boo at the Zoo.
Boo at the Zoo was completely packed! It only went from 5:30 to 8:00. We arrived at about 6:00 and we had to park quite a ways away. When we found the line, we kept walking…and walking….and walking…to find the end of it! I was shocked that they would even have something like that here and that it was packed because nothing we’ve been to in this city has ever been packed….barely busy for that matter! Obviously it was the best thing to do for Halloween here. The line did move pretty quickly and Tommy thought it was pretty neat. They had people dressed up as animals, coinciding with the zoo animals. So the lion was right next to the lion’s cage, etc…. I think Tommy is saying “roar” in the pic below, but who knows
His facial expressions are hilarious and these were all in a matter of about 2.5 seconds!
Enjoying the goods!
