Spring Break in Phoenix

On Friday, the 11th, we drove down to Houston to spend the weekend with Mimi and Papa. All week long we told Tommy he could go to the driving range when we got to their house. That was our first stop on Saturday. After coming home and taking a nap, we went to a golf course. Tommy had fun in the golf cart, but would still rather be golfing. That night, Mimi and Papa, took him and Dylan out to the spa. Tommy hung out with Papa until everyone was ready. He also did some singing before the swim (the video). Sunday, Matt and Autrey went home to work until Wednesday, while me and Shilo would fly with Mona and Doug to Phoenix on Monday.

Mimi always buys the handsomest outfits. He’s just hanging out with his motorcycle, excited for the plane ride Monday morning. This was the first flight that Tommy had is own seat. He was so cute holding on to the arm rests as we took off. He actually fell asleep during take off. The movie, Jungle Book, got us through the rest of the flight Winking smile  We met Lori and Maggie at the airport and Tommy was so happy! He couldn’t stop hugging Maggie and smiling right in her face. She was so sweet about it.

The rental house was nice, but not what we had expected. There were lots of stairs which wasn’t so great for Dylan.  He sure thought he could handle them though! There wasn’t really a 4th bedroom and Mimi and Papa were kind enough to let Tommy and I sleep in their bed while they stayed in a hotel.  We are very grateful!
Our first morning we found a scorpion on our luggage. Thankfully Papa saved us and killed it with his shoe. Then we headed for the Phoenix Zoo.

On Wednesday we went to place called Crackerjax that had arcade games, bumper boats, mini-golf, and the coolest driving range. The tee’s were automatic and would pop up with the ball after each swing. We need those in Fort Worth! We first did a round of mini-golf, Tommy’s first time, and probably last. At least for awhile. He did pretty good, but he’d find a place off the course and say, “here’s the grass, mommy!” (Like we weren’t playing on the right stuff. ) Dylan had fun grabbing everyone’s golf balls and Maggie was really patient with both Tommy and Dylan. When Tommy was at the putting course, she was getting Tommy all his golf balls after he swung them-his own little caddy.

Tommy loved jumping off this little stair in the home’s entry way. Maggie and Tommy also loved a little sitting room that had 4 small stairs. They played and played all kinds of games in it, like Maggie’s Ice Cream Parlor, Tommy’s monster truck races, and stair jumping, of course. They are so cute together. We also did plenty of swimming. A family at the pool let the kids ride their turtle. Tommy also used floaties for the first time. He became fearless, jumping into the water, sometimes before we were ready to catch him!

We went to the automatic driving range again and then Dairy Queen time!

As were were packing up to leave, Danny and Autrey found a lemon tree in the backyard. They were a big hit…at least the first couple licks! Also while packing up, Tommy got his fingers smashed in the car door. It was so sad and broke my heart. But thankfully they weren't broken and just bruised. He was a tough little dude.

We left the rental home on Saturday and went to this little amusement park. Tommy did much better on the cars than the last time. It helps to have his cousin next to him;) He also rode this helicopter, until it went up in the air and then he was done….I think he felt it in his stomach and that was a little too scary.

We had lots of fun in Phoenix. Thanks Mimi and Papa for a fun trip!

I can't handle finger injuries! Seriously, one of my worst fears is one of my children getting their fingers smashed in the door. Ugh...seen it way to many times with my cousins!
