Happy Birthday to Matt and Sick Tommy

Unfortunately Matt’s 31st birthday wasn’t very exciting. Since coming back from Phoenix, Tommy was sick and he stayed home on his birthday and went with me to take him to the doctor. He had been running a temperature of 102.8 that went down temporarily with IB Profen. Then he told me his ears hurt. Turns out, he has ear infections in both ears and some wheezing in his chest. He is on antibiotics and an occasional breathing treatment with the nebulizer. Boy, that brought back awful memories. (We bought the nebulizer when Tommy was 2 months old and had to have the treatments.) Tommy does well with it though, only because he sees steam come out of the mask-just like a train He hasn’t been eating or sleeping well so after the doctor, Tommy and I took a long nap. Then we had the requested enchiladas for Matt’s birthday dinner and Autrey joined us. (When I told Tommy Autrey was coming, he looked at me and said, “be nice to Dylan.” (hahaha. That was said A LOT in Phoenix)
All day I was telling Tommy it was Daddy’s birthday but he wouldn’t sing to him. Not that he wouldn’t sing at all…he sang Happy birthday to me, papa, mimi…..but FINALLY around 8:00 he started singing it to Matt. Better late than never!  Tommy made him a card, punching out the circles, using the stamps, and coloring it. Then we did candles on top of Chocolate Éclair Cake, Matt’s request.
Not a thrilling birthday but we were happy to have Matt home for the day!
